America has lost its soul. My daughter turns 18 tomorrow, and she can finally vote. She joined a protest today to end police brutality against black Americans, and I couldn't be more proud of her. I took her to her first peaceful protest Jan 2017, which was a world-wide protest. She's saying goodbye to youth. May she have fewer protests as an adult, but may she stand up for herself and others when she sees, hears, knows an injustice occurs. Silence kills.
I’d be ever so proud...though my mother wasn’t proud of me when I attended my first protest at 16 (Woolworth lunch counters). The photo is powerful and poignant
