Whew, just in under the line today. I took my camera everywhere I went, which was just the grocery store. I am keeping to my 3.1 miles requirement (not a new year's resolution--rather, a goal to hit 1,000 miles in a year if I can't go back to gym). So, I had work (editing for a student, conference call on a video project, and an order for two photographs framed a client wants), then I had grocery shopping, then I had cooking, then I had walking, then I had meal, and then I hoped ONE photo of the meal (done haphazardly) would suffice. If not, I'd venture out for some light trails or something.
I'm opting to stay in. Yesterday, the installer of our windows agreed every single window would need work. So glad my husband stayed home with me. He had a little reaction to the second dose of the vaccine (he works at a hospital) so he needed to work from home, but he was there to do the 1.5 hour walk through of all the work that was done poorly.
The oldest child is delivered to school. Laundry is also done. And this CURRY! OMG, spicy as heck but done with all traditional elements.
I failed to mention that one of my Christmas gifts to my oldest daughter was Indian spices from the local Indian grocery store--where I fell in love with so many things. So what I bought was duplicated as a gift to myself. No "curry" spice (as we see in the stores) was used in this dinner!
I don't think I have ever seen one food photo from you that wasn't good enough to be in a gourmet magazine. Your meals are always so photogenic! Reading about your day filled me with exhaustion too!
@grammyn I had put off so many things that Today was the Day to get caught up! You are very kind re my food photography. I do not feel the same way as I've seen the pros (and know a few), and what I am doing is pretty lazy. :) That's ok. It's just a 365 project and I'm sticking to it (I pray I really stick with it--you are a great motivator!).
Oh my that looks delicious - what time is dinner? LOL! I love curry but sadly my sister doesn't like anything spicy - tasty in my opinion!! it makes it difficult for me as i don't want to cook two dinners!! i really enjoy your food photography - living vicariously through your images!! LOL!!
@pamknowler this was my first attempt at an authentic curry and it had Indian red chili powder and 3 hot fresh chilis! But the cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom balanced it. I grew up disliking curry, but as an adult I crave it!
I know what you mean about not wanting to cook multiple meals. You could always make a spicy add in for the end of a dish, perhaps so you both get what you want?
