So many trees toppled in a day to accommodate another gas station where we don't need one. I would estimate about 15 large trees toppled at least--disgusted.
@grammyn it was gut crushing to watch them go in a day's time. I have always enjoyed their beauty and shade. It's so unlike our city to have such destruction and for something that is already in existence a block away. :(
@kali66 it really is so heart breaking. Our city has prided itself on preserving green space...that is, until now. Just about 1/4 mile up the street another set of 10 were taken down for some utility expansion. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have rallied some kind of protest, but now I'm just staring at steel and dumpsters where the most beautiful, tall hardwoods stood. wah.
