Mr. and Mrs. Mallard at Westside Park in Atlanta

The old Bell quarry in Atlanta, GA has been made into the largest park in the city. A friend of mine from high school came to visit his family for the holidays (he lives in the San Fran Bay area in CA), and when he does come in town, we usually take our cameras and take a photo walk--later we have a bite to eat somewhere. But we couldn't do that because my husband had been exposed to someone with Covid. We decided we could meet outside with masks and still enjoy the rare moments he is back in the ATL.

Both of these mallards were in a retaining pond near the quarry (which is beautiful) and sleeping. The male duck did keep an eye out for me, and the female was resting on one leg.

I loved the grasses reflected in the water. Very dreamy.

So glad I got to see my friend--my husband has shown no symptoms of the virus, but he took a PCR test yesterday to hopefully confirm he doesn't have it. His exposure canceled everything we had planned with him. I'm happy we are boostered. But it has not been fun keeping away from him. :(
Beautiful tones and composition. I am glad you were able to enjoy your friend to a modified degree.

@grammyn fortunately of the 3 colleagues who were together, my husband didn't get it and he was the only boosted participant. The other two got it. I highly recommend the boost. His PCR test was negative.
