On my last day of my Florida trip, I finally made it to the beach to feel the sand in my feet and to dip my toes in the cold water. The water in Fernandina is pretty chilly, so I was a little surprised to see surfers out in waves. I took some other photos--great bird shots in particular, but I loved this one with the water flying around this guy in the last part of his pretty decent ride! You can see his blue board in the midst of the wave crashing everywhere. Splash! It looked like so much fun--it's on my list now: must try surf boarding before 50!
Tomorrow's my birthday, and I hope that I enjoy life even more in the coming years. I certainly enjoyed celebrating my day early with my dear friends in Fernandina. I'm back in the ATL with work to do and husband and kids to hug, but I loved my time away!
@andyn@jo13 Thanks! It was nice to get such a close up view (after cropping!). Glad my hand was not too shaky to get enough in focus. I see other people's shots (one was of a surfer yesterday too) and I know I cannot get such precision!
