Put Your Eye Here

I have just come from another eye appointment. The first was a bit of a nightmare in that my "eye Dr." (no longer can I call him that) missed the fact that a contact was stuck in my eye for more than a week because he refused to "look" at the eye after I told him "I just feel like something is 'stuck' in my eye."

Last night, I found the offending bugger--it was a contact I THOUGHT I had removed on the first morning of my trip to Nebraska (over a week was this thing in there)--but it was so far lodged in a corner and not visible that I took the pain I was experiencing to signal that I had just injured the eye trying to put IN the darned thing.

So today, with Dr. #2, after the nurse left the room, I pulled out my camera--yes, it goes with me everywhere now-- I decided to collect the "beauty" of the eye apparatus before me while I sat in the chair and wondered if I had permanently injured my eye.

My eye is fine now. I have survived, but Dr. #1--you need to look up this word: hubris.
Jo
Goodness poor you, I cant believe you put up with the discomfort all this time! Dr.#1 sounds like he needs a good kick up the pants, and an eye test!!! Fabulous shot , super clear and sharp.

@jo13 You are very kind. What a nightmare! I'm just glad I have my vision now. Dr. #2 was nice and thoroughly examined the eye. Dr. #1 is fired and sufficiently reported. But I did love capturing a photo between nurse and Dr. visit. I'm so sneaky. :)

DDD, You have a good eye for eye machines. They are so majestic and cleanly calibrated.

I like that you composed this with part of the machine in focus and part our of focus. I had a similar thing happen to me years ago due to being given the wrong prescription for contact lenses and these were hard lenses. I repeatedly told the Dr's office help that they felt all wrong etc. He never had me come back in and I went to another opthamologist who immediately found the problem (ill fitting contact lenses) and that I'd developed keratitis. I had to wear an eye patch over one eye as it healed, then repeat with the other one. Did I mention I'd just started college? I'm glad you did not suffer any permanent damage.

@shunter Thanks MOM! @judis I did have that focused vs. not focused in mind when I took the shot (albeit quickly because I didn't want to get caught taking photos of the machines!). In college Judi? Ahhhhh! Awful Dr.s! Ugh!

Fascinating piece of equipment, nicely photographed. Glad to hear that you're rid of that first doctor.

@automaticslim Yes, FIRED the Dr. and feel much better now! Wish I had had more time to explore the apparatus, but it was a secret mission while I was alone in the room waiting on Dr. #2, the good one. :)
