It's very windy today, so I decided to see if using AI Servo might work with a flower in movement, petals flying, with a bug on it. I can't say that each capture came out focused, but this one came out pretty good of the bug!
I would like to thank everyone for your kind comments about the bird egg losses around here. I have never seen anything as tiny as a chickadee egg and was really hoping to see a baby chick chickadee; some other time perhaps.
I do have good news that I hope stays that way: I know one Robin has hatched and I got a very out-of-focus shot of the baby when Mama flew off with Papa watching on. I got out of the way quickly--will have to wait for another free moment to capture it again, if possible. I think the other egg is not hatched yet.
@pflaume Wow, thanks Lisa--I honestly thought folks would think this was a blah photo! I do love it large, which I did not do until someone suggested it! :)
Love the little bug :-). Not tried the Al Servo but you have inspired me to try as like you, trying to master manual mode.
Thanks also for the fav :-) :-)
This just fantastic Daryl - you must be so delighted - the focus on the little guy is super sharp and just love the daisy against the black! Big fav! : ))
@lunaksi aw, thanks! I did see in an online article about Canons that there is a $60 lens attachment that really helps with macro. I'm going to get that! We'll see what my camera will do with it! :)
@darylo Hm, that looks interesting! Might be something I need to buy too ;) I tried to shoot some lovely droplets and bugs today, but the final result was zero zero sharp shots (of tens)! Aarrgghhh!
Almost 10 years age I had a small Canon Ixus (point&shoot), and used to capture really lovely 'macro' shots... So far, got nowhere near that sharpness with my Nikon d90 :( So, maybe there's some (inexpensive) attachment wfor my Nikon as well :)
