Some of you may recall that this summer I started a yard project, which was broken down into three phases. Only one phase came to fruition. The other stages achieved "cleared out" status.
One of the plants my daughters chose to put in our cleared out area of phase 3 was a canna lily. It was in bloom when we bought it, and then it looked like it was done, but I guess all this rain has inspired another burst of color and blooms. I pulled out my macro clip converter for this shot (in the rain...sigh) and cropped it some in processing.
The rain makes me sleepy, and I long for the sun. We've also had cool, fall-like weather, which does not seem right at all for an August in Georgia--not right at all...
@gerry You are very kind Gerry. I will be visiting your photos now. I apologize for being so absent on the commenting boards. It's been hard to keep up beyond posting lately. :( I very much appreciate your comments and visits. :)
@taffy We have hit a wall in terms of needing the ground re-graded most likely to accommodate some the raised beds we want, and we would really like to take out a bit of the hill to get more space, so we are creative rich and budget poor. :( The south does not get very cold until October or so, so we have time in case I find funds, etc. The loss of recent contract says "no."
@darylo Bummer! But hopefully just 'on hold' and not for too long. I loved seeing how you were turning it into something so new! It was inspiring to me. Thanks for your kind comments today. I really appreciated them!
I'm with you on the dark depressing cloudy and/or rainy days. It is good for all our growing things except us! ;~} Terrific shot of the lily. I DO like the drops on the petals.
