SOOC! Ok, so this is my first real attempt at my get-pushed challenge of "light painting" this week--hoping to get back to it today after my battery recharges.
I had this same get-pushed challenge two weeks ago, but I really did not have the time to do it, so thanks to Joe ( @rellimdj ) for pushing me again! Light trails are on my bucket list too, so I'm watching what he's doing in my very own city (see his light trails shot last night of downtown Atlanta: http://365project.org/rellimdj/365/2013-11-19 )! Watch and learn, watch and learn!
I'm a little psyched that my first attempt on this one came out ok. Will be looking for sharper light next (any constructive criticism welcome. I'm thinking less time on shutter and faster movement:? I'm using an "aim and flame"...in the bathroom...in the complete dark). Recharge little battery! Recharge! :)
@wind_of_the_sothern_sea Would you be able to advise me on how to make the light more in focus? I'm thinking I'm too close or that my shutter speed is wrong or my light source is too big? Would love any advise! Thanks @danitech@vskolnik Any advice? Once my battery gets up and running, I'm going to try again. :)
@rvwalker I may try to back away and then crop after next time. At least I know I can do it now! Last time, I had to adjust so much in processing for the cute Heart my husband did outside. I had no time to plan a shot. I've got that time this week thankfully! Thanks for your kind comments!
Very very good, it actually looks like apple peel as well as light, I tried this a while back http://365project.org/jo13/365/2013-04-29 I see my exif is there for once. 'If' I remember correctly I think I shone my iphone touch on the onion first, then turned it off, then whirled a little touch around it, all in complete darkness!!
Great first try Daryl. I'd use either a mini mag light, or an LED light. I don't think you can get a sharp photo of a moving flame. Light painting with sparklers also has a great effect, but I certainly wouldn't try it indoors!
