I have served as a missionary twice to Honduras on some building missions in the Tegucigalpa area. On one of our last days, our group was taken to the Valley of the Angels for a shopping, site-seeing tour. I used the time to gather a few items for my family. My husband loves games--especially chess, so I bought him this beautifully decorated box that folds out into a board. Many of the pieces (Mayans v. Conquistadors) don't exist now, but I keep them because it is quite colorful and beautifully crafted. But no color here--it's Day one of Jerry Plume's One Night Stand #6! Oh, come join the party! http://365project.org/discuss/general/20065/one-night-stand-six
My get-pushed partner also assigned me "board games" this week; so, a two-fer. I'm all-in on ONS6, so hope this one works for you Simmy!
@writingdays One Lama I think. Most of the pieces are broken or lost. The horse-like piece is not distinctive enough to actually use in the shot. It looks like a castle or rook more than a horse. :)
Great b and w for the ONS! And what do you mean many pieces don't exist now? You bought it with out having all the pieces? It is a marvelous thing to have! So cool!
Beautiful pieces. I love that you give us the background story, it makes them that more special!! Whoever made the set had a sense of humor!! Overall fabulous!!
