Sorry, just uploaded a bunch of bird photos I took this morning. I couldn't resist. It's been way too long without my birds! All of them were taken with manual focus too. A struggle, but fun to sit and wait and watch and rejoice in birdland!
Some days, I think the birds have deserted me, and then this morning the back yard was all active--So many birds today: mockingbirds, phoebes, blue birds, two types of woodpeckers, Carolina wrens, house finches, and chickadees. I have learned also that the sweet gum balls feed the birds now. I can't believe how many of my trees feed the birds their essentials at the various seasons of the year. I have once thought to remove a few to expand the yard, but now I think--how could I?
Wow, fabulous Daryl, you are so lucky to have captured a woodpecker, they still elude me, and my garden birds have deserted me, so I am enjoying yours instead, lovely shot.
I know what you mean about the good days and bad days of bird activity. It sure makes you grateful for the good days when they do come around. Manual focus?! You must have quick hands!
Fav instantly! The composition is awesome -- the white branches, the brightly plumed bird, the POV. WOW! And handheld -- I find I have to do that or my camera focuses on branches instead of birds! And my eyesight is so bad it's always a guessing game as to whether it was the right choice. Your bird shots this morning are all brilliant!!
