I believe I'm going to keep taking shots of these guys as long as they keep giving me creative poses while they steal the bird seed. Played with selective color in LR5 and I tried the cloning tool so the branch that crossed over the tail was not as noticeable. Criticism welcome. :)
No criticism here -- I love the way you caught the squirrel and then made the feeder pop with color. No wonder he likes it so much! I have plenty of squirrels, but I want one of those feeders!
@catwoman2 I realized today that the feeder does not come apart for cleaning, but I rinsed it with water and then wiped it clean as much as I could on the inside with a rag and something to pull it back out. The feeder is quite attractive--just not squirrel proof (what feeder is?). The squirrels are PLOWING through the feed, but I have 40 lbs. of it. Did you get the link I put on another shot of the feeder--it's at a Lowe's if you have them. :)
@darylo It seems to me you have figured it out. As with anything the more you use it the more comfortable you will be with it. I don't haveLR but I use cloning sometimes in the free software I use.
@pflaume It's not really an option for selective coloring, but if you have an individual object that has color, you can take the Vibrance slider to -100 but then for the individual item to pop back up, you can take it's saturation up to 100 (in the individual colors--red in this case). I hope that makes sense. I tend to figure things out by just messing with the sliders . I think I may do more of it this month as I'm working on some black and white with color mixed in -- this lantern works great for the test! I do believe you can use the radial filter for something too. I tried that way back when I got it and it worked, but I have no idea HOW I did it. I do love that LR records your every editing move, though!
Great editing and super fun image! I too am a 'learn by sliding' ;) I'm using PS3, not an option for me at this time to upgrade. I wonder if LR would be a smart buy for me?
