This is my last abstract for April, and I have loved every minute of it. I'm falling behind and am starting to post photos out of date (by a day or two) because I'm spending more time reviewing a photo for its quality more than for the daily post.
This is a baby mallard duck and I've never photographed ducks! 6 babies followed mother duck and dad duck was close behind keeping watch (but at a distance the whole time). I'm going to provide some duck shots in my "mostly birds" album and I hope I don't annoy everyone with the multiple uploads. I am leaving for Tampa Florida tomorrow to chaperone another band trip (if you followed me last time I took that trip, it was during one of Jerry Plume's "Sign" challenges).
I'm struggling to come up with a theme for May. Minimalist (@taffy) May was one idea, or Minimalist Mondays. I'm thinking Madness May or Mindless May because it's the craziest month of the year for me. The themes are helping me keep focus. But maybe it'll be "Meander May" and I'll find some thing while I Meander Mindless in the Madness. MMMMMMM.
Next month, my daughter graduates 8th grade. As a mother, I'm transitioning my role as much as she is. Here's hoping she'll come up for air like this little duck and know I'm still nearby, just not smothering her. Oh, and yeah, it's a deep thought May too. Mental.
