My daughter Kira has two friends she has grown up with in our neighborhood. The young man on the left was born a day earlier than she, and the young man on the right is like a brother to her and used to live right down the street. I found the photo on the left for a Throw Back Thursday yesterday--it was taken the first day of school for 6th grade. The kids used to walk to school together (they would gather at my house beforehand and sometimes all eat breakfast here or study for vocab quizzes).
Today, I asked the kids to pose for me after the wonderful graduation our school provided for them, and look what three years has done. Like magic growing beans! I love these guys -- such great kids. Proud of my daughter who was also asked on stage for her perfect score on the high school exam she took and for a perfect reading score on the Georgia CRCT.
She's going to High School. Watch out world, and pray for me. Hot dog! ;)
Your daughter is a beautiful young lady. Better lock her up! :-). Your story really reminded me of those years..walking, biking, carpooling. Such valuable moments.
This is just a beautiful reminder for all the beautiful moment we share together with the people that are important to us.
Congratulations for your daughter ^_^
