Gigantic slices. I had salad. Still on my new "food plan" which I started July 21. 12 pounds down (it fluctuates, though). I'm used to it now and am happy with the results. Happy that my hubby looks happy here. :)
Note, I'm filling in August 9 when I apparently did not take a photo....oh well!
@jyokota@timandelke Ok, so I don't call it a diet because I don't plan on changing the way I'm eating again, but I got pulled into one of those side-bar ads called "Beyond Diet" and I paid a fee to get some online information--that was it. There is a 14-quick start guide with grocery lists and menus and then there is lots of stuff to learn about what foods do, how they process, blah, blah, blah. I'm a cook, so I already love all the food listed on my particular track (there is a protein track, a carb track and a mixed track). I'm a protein person and so that means I reduce the amount of sugar in my system -- so two things are out pretty much (wheat items and sugary fruits and well, sugar!). I have coped by using sprouted bread (which is absolutely delicious--highly recommend) and using Stevia as my only sweetner. I eat cheese but in a limited fashion. I make much of the meat I will eat over the week on a grill in a massive cooking session and I make turkey chili and meatballs or sausages too so I can weigh and freeze them for heating up and eating a meal quickly. I've got it down to a system. There is a chart in front of me in case I don't have something prepared and it goes something like this (breakfast 3 proteins, 1 carb; snack 2 proteins 1 carb; lunch 4 proteins, 1 carb, 2 fats; snack 2 proteins 1 carb; dinner 5 proteins, 1 carb, 2 fats). NO CALORIE COUNTING and one thing counts toward a category and does not share (for example, meat is a protein and never a fat and a tomato is a carb and not a freebie because it's a veggie/fruit). Again, it's called Beyond Diet. It's cheesy, but the science behind it has worked for me, and it does not include exercise. And finally, there is a day of eat whatever, so if I want wheat or sugar or dairy, I can. Lately, I'm seeing how much I don't crave it much. But potato chips...I still crave those and give in on Sundays! God Bless Potato Chips!
Gee...you are doing a great job with your meal plan! Sounds similar to what I try to do. I have been cheating too much lately with sweets. Ugh. We made some spaghetti made with spelt and even my extremely hard to please husband liked it!
@danette I have virtually eliminated sugar, which for me was the easiest. I'm a salt and tart taste kind of gal, but Sundays are anything goes days, so at the annual city Ice Cream Crankin Fest, I sampled away! But stopped when I felt the sugar coursing through my body. Was nice to know WHEN TO STOP!
@darylo -- thanks for the (free) rundown! Sounds do-able and therefore, likely to be successful. Congratulations on your progress! If only I didn't have such digestive issues where that guides what I should be eating, I might try it. And I still might -- but with more modifications. I'm supposed to be on a Low FODMAP diet for lifelong digestive issues and it's very complicated. No asparagus, artichokes, broccoli, cherries, mango, etc. But yes list is longer than the no list.
