This photo is actually one year old and it marks the year anniversary of my brother's every other year "low country boil." It's possibly one of my favorite events ever as my family gathers to join my brother in hosting a crab/shrimp boil for all his friends and neighbors. All of us try to make it and we put on the event (the food at least) on our own--Southern hospitality at it's finest, even in the Northern territory (CT). A proper low country boil has corn, shrimp, potatoes, sausages, and spices. We add crabs to the pot separately. I didn't take a shot today, and I was so happy to go in search of a year later photo to put in its place!
@ksmale On the tables are homemade seafood/horseradish/tomato sauce and melted butter sauce (my recipe) with my secret ingredients! It's a crowd pleaser every time!!!
@kt8ird It's only every two years. My sister-in-law and brother might faint if they had to do it every year. About 200+ guests attend. I told them to make it a wedding event for that area. Serious fun for everyone!
Oh, I remember your photos from last year and it looked so amazingly fun as a family event. I'm enjoying being reminded of the event and your wonderful shots of the food last year.
...You don't need to convince me! Looking absolutely fantastic!
