The Gift of Fruit 1

Our visiting Japanese student this fall, to whom we played host family, sent us this lovely Christmas card that comes in 2d and then converts to 3d after you read the note inside. Yesterday, we prominently displayed it on our dresser in the room where our Christmas tree resides. The morning light came in on her elaborately designed skirt and I thought if I could catch the gem, I would have a nice shot. I'm pleased.

In Black and white, there is a different feeling to the shot, more ominous perhaps. You can check it out here: http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-12-12
Oh, we've always loved our visiting Japanese friends and students...and I LOVE their sweet and endearing artistic sensibilities! This is so lovely and I know she (or he) will love seeing this photo you took.

They are very clever with their paper art! This is gorgeous and I would be very proud to have it on my dresser! Your lighting brings out the colours and textures so well!
