In early January of 2014, I decided to post one photo to let the 365 community know I was still around, just taking a break after a pretty traumatic end to Dec. 2013 while wrapping up my Year One. I had to take a break between years. I'll be finishing my second year Jan. 21, and I'll be taking another break after that to gather some gusto for a third year.
As I look back, I'm going to my LR5 photos I never tagged. Now that I'm tagging, I'm revisiting and re- developing.
One of my big goals this year was to shoot in RAW and to learn how to develop things. So take a look back at this same shot (it may have been the very next shot actually in the series, but same angle and idea). http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-01-04 I rather like today's version better!
So I feel like I've made progress. And hopefully by the 21st, I'll have a slide show to show some things I've done over the past TWO years since year one ended so much like a whimper...
I like this version best - more stark and dramatic
short and sweet - hahahaha - about as much chance of that as I would have LOL - no offence intended ;-)
@darylo my problem is not being able to make a decision - maybe when I start my next year in a few months I should limit the number of photos I take hahahaha
I also think this one is the better of the two, not that I think there is anything wrong with the first one. I think on this site, not only do you learn a lot to help you take better photographs, I also think you learn to appreciate the photographs you see on here.
You begin to see the skill, time, effort and creativity that is needed to produce such wonderful images.
When you reach your year end, don't be away too long, you have a new toy to play with don't you ?
@markp I will receive the toy the day I finish the project. I will probably take a few weeks (although I may post a few in the other album to stay in touch), but the official third year takes getting rest and "looking back" for me to keep going. Honestly, I don't know how people just go right into the next year. I get so exhausted! But yes, new toy will be focus of Year three and re-editing those that I think I should (and rediscovering the thousands of photos I just loaded and did nothing with!). I think the break will be about purging a ton of RAW files just sucking up space.

Thanks again for the comment shared on my "365" picture.
