I'm working on my photography club's next theme: Out of Place, and I had one idea that when I showed someone, she was scratching her head about what was "out of place," so today, whilst out playing with my tripod, I came across this paint marker on a beautiful tree and I thought this could work for the theme. My problem, however, is "would I ever frame something like this?" and the answer is most likely NO. So why would I submit something like this?
I really have been asking myself what kind of photographer I am, and lately I realize I go looking for a shot rather than letting myself create a shot. Perhaps the tripod should encourage me to think of a concept and then create it for something I'd like to frame? Who knows. I do think that the tripod helped with the focus and clarity of this photo, though, so practice was good!
I'm so behind, I don't even want to face that fact. I need to get out more with my camera and really try to come to grips with the technical aspects I tend to ignore! Lately, I've been in "P" mode, which is fine, but today was the first manual manipulation in a long time, and it was of an orange paint spot on a tree...
Oh, and this morning, I ran a 5k (the whole way) and tonight, my husband and I came from 9th place to 3rd in the final round of team trivia--woohoo! Off to bed. Hopefully time tomorrow to take a look at everyone's photos!
congrats on the 5k that's quite a feat! I do like this shot especially because of the complementary orange and blue theme even if that orange spray paint is "out of place" : )
Awesome about the 5k and trivia! Woo!
