Le Louvre -- pain de ginger :) by darylo

Le Louvre -- pain de ginger :)

Ironically my daughter was working on a big French project when we heard of the attacks in Paris. She finished her Gingerbread replica of the pyramid and fountains at the Louvre.

I'm pretty disgusted by the discussions I have seen on social media about Syrian refugees and how many US states (including my own) have somehow decided that any refugee = terrorist.

I won't tolerate that type of paranoia in my home. Ever.
How creative! Timely project. Must turn it in before it gets eaten!

I don't think they actually believe that - just feel nervous when they see a Muslim because he just might be one!

@maggiemae hmmm. Not sure I follow you.

I'm pleased to hear about your disgust. But is there anything you can do about it? I think it is time that we, as the non-politicians, made the politicians hear and understand how terrible these gut reactions are.
Anyway, I am very impressed with your daughters Louvre!

I am also impressed with her art work. True what is going on around the world is awful.. I can't for a minute imagine what it must be like to be those Syrian people.....

Oh this is wonderful Daryl how clever and creative! Hope she gets a good mark!
My heart breaks every time I see another dingy crammed full of people - families with babies and little children - trying to cross the Mediterranean to escape the same horrors we saw in Paris. To put their families at risk of drowning they must be so desperate!

Great photo of a wonderful art piece.
Agree about the paranoia too.
The animals doing this are not Muslims or refugees they are terrorists and that is it

Desperate times all round and they breed desperate reactions. I'm with you.

Fabulous gingerbread project and I hear you and totally agree re not tolerating that kind of paranoia. I'm finding myself avoiding one of my friends who is caught up in it and doesnt want to hear any other side of the discussion

Her project is so well done set for minute I thought it was the Louvre! The low POV helps with that! There's bound to be lots of paranoia and overreacting whenever people feel threatened. Whether it happens in Missouri or France people don't trust what they don't understand.

Well said, Daryl! I totally agree with you.
