Hearken

Had a lovely visit from @photoblah who is in town for October. The weather was beautiful. The plan was to visit the famous Varsity restaurant, then head over to the Jackson Street Bridge and Oakland Cemetery. Ran into some road blocks because I forgot that Atlanta's Pride Parade was going on, but it turned out I was able to give a general driving tour until I could figure out how to make our way on the other side of Peachtree Street. Once at the Varsity, we loaded up on food that could upset a sensitive stomach. I had the onion rings and chili dogs, and Fotoblah had a slaw chili dog and a burger.

The church of my youth is across from the Varsity, so I suggested we go over there to see if we can get some interior shots--we got in just in time (after services were done and the place to ourselves locked in--we could exit once we were done!).

After the church, we decided to skip the Bridge because the light was harsh at that point. Off to Oakland Cemetery (large historical cemetery). I'm posting some of my favorites from the day. I'll post on of Fotoblah--he takes photos that are anything but blah!

Thanks for visiting! Hope you enjoy your stay!
