We are in the period of time my family starts to prepare for our favorite holiday all year: Thanksgiving.
We start with me fretting over planning and my husband taking on new lofty goals for his next gingerbread construction. This year, he hopes to create a 5 ft. tall Willis Tower with "Cubs Win." He is a dreamer, and while I have great hopes his tower will actually get constructed, I have my doubts. We'll have a ton of gingerbread and we'll have a record 16 folks eating at my home. A 20 lb. turkey (never done that either), and all done in a new kitchen.
For the first time ever since a wedding (over 20 years ago), our family will all be in one place except for one niece. My tripod will be in use! I think I may even make a "niece board" to have her in the shot! Ha!
I ramble. It's so nice having a kitchen for this all. My house is a wreck--but I think I just have to come to terms with that and know this holiday is about family and being together. It's a year where I've got to hang on to all the positives!
