Chicago, I miss You Already

I am sitting at ORD airport processing phone photos in LR app while it snows outside, and my daughter does calculus problems. Why am I here?

Christmas gift to my daughter: Concert of GOT7 (kpop...look it up) in Chicago. To do, so I can justify gift: Take official college tour with daughter in Chicago. Gift to myself: Visit Junko and Taffy. ♡♡♡♡

Oh! My daughter wanted me to take her to a K-Pop concert instead of attending her high school graduation (she's a huge Shinee fan). Really too far for us to travel, though, so she had to walk for graduation. GOT7... Way to go!!!

@aecasey My daughter and your daughter sound like twins. I has been a whirlwind trip. We were supposed to go to Chicago in spring for college visits, so I just adjusted dates! So glad I'm not the only KPOP mom on this site. I actually loved the whole thing.

@darylo haha ... I was just thinking about you as I did my workout (to K-pop because it's great workout music) and wondered if your daughter watches the Korean dramas. My daughter got me hooked. Love DramaFever and Viki. Very little violence, no foul language (at least not in the translations), very chaste.... You might also mention to your daughter to check out an Asian Studies minor or major. My daughter got an Asian Studies minor, and with her K-Pop and Korean drama interests had a lot of material for projects and papers.

@aecasey oh yes, I am a k drama mom too (Playful kiss, Dream High, You're Beautiful, To the Beautiful You, Beating Again. Secret Garden, etc. ). Kira has taken Japanese for 6 years now and did study in Okinawa last summer full immersion. She lives Korean too, but may study that separately . She is a STEM student but hopes to continue Japanese in college I think. Good to hear your daughter loves all the same (and we do too). A good work out song is by Jun in Arashi (japanese pop) called "Shake it" this is so nice to know someone else likes all this!
