37 students started with a one-hour written test in all things Neuroscience (any and everything!). The 10 students with the top scores moved on as finalists, with three oral rounds until a victor emerged! My daughter (back row, second from left) made it to the second of the three rounds before missing an answer by a smidge. It was so nerve-wracking.
I am so proud of her and the other kids--this was not a memory-styled bee of terms. At the intermission between the exam and the finals, neuroscience graduate students hosted tables with actual brains of humans and animals, displays of the different research opportunities/fields, and interactive virtual reality experiences.
