Stadium Seats/Field maintenance at Georgia Institute of Technology. Gen. Info session and Chemical Engineering info/tour today. I have to say of ALL the schools we have toured, our amazing school in our backyard is my fav. Now, if only our stupid legislature and Gov. didn't put into law "Campus Carry." Ugh! This place is absolutely fantastic in every way.

I think my thoughts on campus carry are the same as yours! As for the right school for your daughter, if it is anything like it was for mine, it comes down to that gut feeling! Every school they applied too was amazing in its own right!
@ukandie1 We are extrememly fortunate to have one of the top engineering schools in the country, and she'd go tuition free. We still love Princeton and Northeastern has always felt so good, but after today, we know even if she doesn't get into her #1 choice, she'll likely make it in here. Thatvis a lovely "problem." Iwant her to go out of state, but even at Ga Tech she can study abroad, do internships/COOPs here, nationally, and internationally (with much of it paid). Sort of a no brainer....
@redy4et it's catch 22. Free tuition at one of the best universities in the nation, where it's been gunfree til now. Or go into debt at an out of state school. I hate my Governor for signing this law that he vetoed last year. The NRA came to town and the GA GOP got in bed with em. Sorry to be so crass. I'm a supporter of US 2nd Amendment but I'm not dumb.
@mtroscoe Thanks Roscoe :) The Chem bio E presentation was stellar! Thankfully Beth will not have to deal with the new law. It's a real downer for us! But of all the schools we have toured, I like this one best, even if it means she will not be up north where she would prefer to be.

There are some pluses to having her go to school at home as I'm sure you already know.
