Photo Finish

I captured so many stressed out photos at the finish line this weekend. On a happy note, our team (not pictured here) won the meet (Fulton County Championship). It was my oldest daughter's last home meet as a high schooler. 5 more meets till it's over.

And also, my oldest completed one full college app today. She'll hit send later. One more before Oct. 15 and another before Nov. 1. Then a little break before she starts up for the "regular decision" round (hopefully with some good news of at least one acceptance before heading into that round!). Stressful. Night quite as stressful as above, I certainly feel that way sometimes!

Oh, taken with a borrowed 100-400mm canon lens (4.6+ aperture). Works well with a monopod--I don't have the strength to hand-hold that beast of a lens. Needs good light to work too. Thankful to my good friend for letting me borrow the lens. I'm handing it back now--I ended up bending my monopod leg to my tripod, and I am afraid I was just so tired after lugging everything for about 3+ hours for 6 races to complete.
Great capture! Love their expressions.

Good result with your lens - the faces are so in focus and clear. I wonder if a smaller camera would take as good a photo!
