We all know the famous Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square in London but not so many people know about the column on Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth Harbour. Finished in 1807 (two years after the Battle of Trafalgar), the column stands 120 feet high and was paid for by The Royal Navy. It is more properly known as Nelson's Monument.
