Tillings Stevens Hybrid Bus

Spent a beautiful September day at The Amberley Chalk Pits Museum and one of the exhibits was this 1920s Tilling Stevens bus which is being restored. The bus was the forerunner of today's hybrids as the petrol engine generated electricity to drive the wheels instead of driving them directly through a gearbox. It was to enable tram drivers to become bus drivers with little difficulty.
