This was my Grandad's Kodak Folding Autographic Brownie No 2. It has a ball bearing shutter so that makes it pre 1925, so at least 94 years old. I took it out the other day loaded with FP4+ but I guess the film was too fast for it so I'm going to try some Pan F and see if that gives me a better image. If not I'll have to buy a roll of Rollei RPX25 which is probably closest to the "high speed" film of it's day. The Autographic bit of it's name refers to the type of film you could then buy and before winding on after a shot you opened a slot on the camera back and with the scribe provided wrote a caption and/or date etc, exposed it to light and that's why you see a lot of old photos from the first half of the twentieth century with white writing on them.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond If it's a twin lens Rollei then I would think it takes 120 film. You will need a light meter as well as I doubt it has built in metering. If you want a 120 black and white film you are more than welcome to pop into the shop in Portchester (Wednesday to Saturday) and I'll let you have one to try.
