Seeds collected from the biggest flower head. Perspective on the size of this sunflower. The plate I used to display the sunflower seeds on. The sunflower head covered the whole plate. I can't wait for them to dry to roast my own sunflower seeds. I grew a smaller sunflower for the birds 🌻🌻🌻
Wow, nice collection.

A bald sunflower. Lots of seeds there. I have just put out a bowl of sunflower seeds to feed the lorikeets and corellas.

Oh, how wonderful to be able to roast (I assume) your own seeds! I've never tried such a thing, but I might have to -um- procure a neighbor's sunflower to try it ;-P

Totally amazing!

Wow. I should probably have taken down some of the big sunflowers that grew this year and saved the seeds, but then the birds started eating them....

@aikiuser LOL!! Be careful if you get caught taking you might get maimed!! If you ask I'm pretty sure they will share. Most gardeners are nice that way.

@dutchothotmailcom @onewing @koalagardens @wakelys @clivee @kvphoto @ingrid01 @marlboromaam @randystreat @bubblequeen @sunnygreenwood Thank you for all the wonderful comments and FAV. I was surprised that the birds did not mess with these heads. I did see a few birds eating on the smaller sunflowers. This is my first year roasting them. I am hoping they will be better than the store bought ones. I have tried one of the seeds and there really is no flavor to them at all.
