Spikes

This strange spiked weed really jumped out at me when I was hiking near the creek. I have no idea what it is but it provided such a contrast to the soft snow. Scary! It was too odd to pass up.

I think this is a wild cucumber. I get them growing on my back fence in the summer and they look just like this when they dry. Very nice shot, Denise.
