A beautiful shot of a lantana, I believe? They are a dreadful weed in our country but I'm always shooting them; they have such great variation of shapes and colours in the one flower.
July 14th, 2012
Ah it is lovely - even if lantana is a noxious weed here! :)
July 14th, 2012
@girlie So interesting that these are weeds in your country. Here people plant them as lovely flowers.....with so many varieties and colors.
July 14th, 2012
So talented! You can make one flower look like an entire bouquet!

@denisedaly Yes, I've noticed so many 365ers from other countries featuring it in their projects. It was brought here as an ornamental plant in the 1840s and escaped into the bush so that by the 1950s it had spread over almost 1600 km of the eastern coast of Australia. I grew up with the smell of lantana from every vacant block in the neighbourhood, it was so pervasive. Apparently graziers spend over $17 million a year on its control here.

Gorgeous colors and fun title!

@girlie That's so interesting how species of plants and animals can destroy another country. In the US, we are currently struggling with Asian Carp and zebra mussels invading our lakes and rivers....destroying many other species. Thanks for sharing this information Robin.
