Was so excited to see something other than the little finches in my yard. This bird was big enough to get my attention. A little research and I learned it was a Cooper's Hawk. Luckily it didn't eat the bunny that lives in the nearby bush. Exciting! (sorry the quality is so bad...this was the best of about 100 pictures!)
He was probably looking for those finches! Lovely bird, but they are known around here to be bird hunters....especially pigeons and doves. Pretty cool catch! -Em
Someone else informed me they like to hang around birdfeeders for the songbirds. Glad he didn’t attack any of mine but it was still cool to watch him.
