Caught

Remember those lovely peaches from the other day? The birds are having a field day, and this morning I caught this little wax eye having a great feed. These are cute little birds - called wax eyes or silvereyes (Zosterops lateralis lateralis). They were self-introduced to NZ from Australia in 1856. Although they are very cute, they are a pest as far as orchardists are concerned, as they use their very sharp little beaks to poke holes in the fruit, making it unusable.
Bottoms up! Love it!
