There were two young motorcyclist stunt riders at the Field Days today. They were pretty skilled and fearless as they performed stunts - up really high between the takeoff and landing ramp. It's a bit hard to see, but I didn't want to crop it any more, or you wouldn't be able to see how high he is off the ground.
@julzmaioro Yep - I was tempted to take a photo of the car in front of us as we sat in a very slow moving queue for 4 hours to get into the National Field Days……at times, we even turned the car off….. Still, it was a great afternoon, with perfect weather, when we finally got into the gates.
For those of you overseas, the field days are the big even for all farmers and interested others, showcasing equipment, tractors, innovative ideas etc.
Great action shot of these skilful young men. A 4hour queue to get into the field day? We occasionally attend the Ag Show and Farmfest , they are really interesting but have never suffered a long queue thus far :-)
My old dad who was in RAAF in WW2 used to tell me: 'There's old pilots and bold pilots. But there are no old bold pilots!' I suspect the same may apply to these daredevils too. But it's a super action shot. Was it a good/useful/informative field day?
@golftragic Yes - I've heard that saying too. Field day was very interesting - mostly farming and farm related stuff, but I hadn't been for about 28 years - another 28 years and I'll be 85, so might not leave it so long before the next visit! We have a few acres of land, so we are 'mini farmers' and enjoyed the day. These Field Days run for 5 days, and are a huge event.
@dide Did you buy/spot anything interesting? I know field days very well indeed, I was on the land for 20 years, my son-in-law is an agronomist, and my late father used to be a sponsor for one of the northern Victorian field days way back when.
@golftragic Yes lots of interesting things, but also lots of huge machinery and gear that us small farmers don't need. We only bought a couple of drip feeders to put in the water line for our hens… big spenders. Oh, and we needed to buy lunch after our mammoth trip stuck in traffic queues!
@dide That sounds like you had a very satisfactory day all round, except the four-hour queue to get in. Hope lunch was up to the usual rural standards.
