I am just beginning to use photoshop, so you have to see yet another pohutukawa! I was disappointed with the flower colour in the original shot, as the bright sky took away the lovely red - so this is very close to the real colour. The shot on January 1st is the same place, but in the evening, whereas this one was early morning.
@amyamoeba@julzmaioro@pyrrhula@lleo Thanks - and there is a tiny building nestled in the trees in the valley - this is where my husband's mother lived as a child, when her family were farming here.
I go back and compare this shot to the one from a few days ago. Your processing has made a nice difference... the red pops out much more clearly. Good for you, to stretch out and expand your boundaries. :)
@rosiekerr Thanks - it is coincidence that the photos are one above the other in the thumbnail prints, so it is easy to compare. There was a white possum bait station stuck on the tree trunk, and in the morning light it stuck out like the proverbial… and I managed to clone that out. Slowly, slowly, my skills are improving.
The light is much brighter in this one and the reds look fantastic. I was so disappointed they hadn't flowered when we were there :( But I'm really enjoying all your shots of them.
