The silk tree on our lawn (Albizzia Persian Silk Tree) is flowering beautifully this year. In fact, this is the best it has ever done, as it is planted where the salty, westerly winds hammer it. I have noticed that all the silk trees seem to be flowering really well - a nice follow on from the bright red of the pohutukawa tree flowers.
That's so pretty. We have a yellow type of albizzia that is a weed. It grows everywhere and is hard to kill. The flowers are yellow like these but not quite as pretty.
You have captured this so beautifully with that green bokeh-studded background. They have been flowering down here too, but don't think I could manage a shot as lovely as this.
@snaphappi I had to cheat a bit and pick these as the flowers were too high in the tree. Then I held them and the alder tree was in the distance, giving a bokeh effect. Try it sometime. Thanks for all the favs. Happy weekend- I fly to South Island this afternoon but going to central Otago and Dunedin.
