Butcher's Dam

I had a lovely walk at Butcher's Dam today. This dam was built during 1935-37 to provide a water supply for nearby Alexandra. The water tunnel goes through a hill back to the township. Nowdays, Alexandra's water supply is from bores in the gravels alongside the Clutha River.
