This is part of the view from our dining room, and this afternoon, the sky was threatening to drop some rain on us! Unfortunately it seems an idle threat, as not a drop landed here! I love looking out to the old sheds and huge macrocarpa tree - all part of the farming scene. The smaller shed is an old piggery - all farmers had pigs when only the cream was sent to be made into butter (the skim milk was fed to the pigs). Nowdays, the farmers send whole milk to the factory, so very few grow their own pigs.
Nicely composed rural scene. Farming has become big business in so many areas now and the idle farm buildings are the only testament to diversification.
Fantastic shot.. and it is really great in B&W.. I remember once when we had pigs on the family farm and my Dad got the Skim Milk and Water pipes mixed up somehow and when the toilet was flushed milk came out... far more straight forward now a days with the tanker coming to collect it..
