Hurrying home by dide

Hurrying home

Last year, one of our hens kindly sat on duck eggs and hatched them. We now have 3 lovely white ducks that live in the orchard and roam about the farm. As soon as I appear near the hen house, they race from where ever they are, knowing that I will give them some extra food!
Cute shot,, is this Jamima Puddle Duck.... love the curl of her/his tail..

@julzmaioro Must be Jeremy Puddleduck, as apparently the boys have a wee curl by their tail.

Hens fostering ducks? What a kind gesture. I wish humans can be as kind among races. Such a great quality shot and I can see the urgency.

Delightful image Dianne, love the depth of field, detail and presentation, I take it this one will not be going in the pot, as kids on our farm we could not get to attached to the Geese, Ducks or Chickens they were all destine for the pot, lol :)

@yaorenliu @happypat @maggiemae Yes the hen hatched them out, then looked after them until they were big enough to get along without her. We ended up with two ducks and a drake and they are such fun to have and do not hang around the house at all, because I do not feed them there!

@pcoulson Nope - not destined for the pot! Purely ornamental, although the two ducks do lay eggs, but this fellow is just an extra!

Handsome fellow - love those flipped feathers at his tail-end! I think ducks make wonderful pets — they're so funny, smart, and wonderful 'watch dogs'.
