The Wanaka Tree by dide

The Wanaka Tree

@julzmaioro showed 365 a lovely image of the Wanaka Tree and explained how it is probably the most photographed tree in NZ and possibly the world. When we arrived to take a photo (or two), we were beaten to the best spot by the 'early birds'. Interestingly, the girl with her tripod in the water managed to drop something of significance into the lake. I suspect it was a lens as it made a rather big 'plunk' ….. they left very soon after. Note all the cormorants in the tree - as the daylight got stronger, they flew away one by one.
As an aside, there was a man with a dog nearby and the dog was keen for a swim - I suspect the photographers may have killed the dog if it created ripples in the calm lake!
Your unique image of this scene is just the best! A double fav!
