This is a display in a small town called Otorohanga - NZ, showing kiwiana. (The Aussies may get upset to see the pavlova there, as it is a contentious issue as to who actually invented it!) I like the irony of the MacDonald's light that was reflected in the window…..
I love this, what a great idea. It really brightens up the wall. I love the irony of the Maccas sign too.
Don't care who claims pavlova as long as I get the biggest slice.
Very interesting image Dianne, the McDonalds sign made me smile they are everywhere, as an Englishman the Kiwi shoe polish is an issue. Englishman William Ramsay in 1906 developed a fine boot polish which he named ‘KIWI’. as a trademark a tribute to his wife who was a native of New Zealand, I will not mention the Wellington boot, lol:)
@gilbertwood Oops - have stirred up a hornet's nest….. @pcoulson is claiming a few items from as far away as England. Will be a bare wall by the time you two have finished claiming bits off it…. :)
@dide Every day is a school day you never know what will happen when you post an image and make a statement with the 365 world listening, at least its all taken in good heart:)
