Abandoned

This sweet little abandoned house reminded me of a child's drawing. The only difference is that a child would probably have only given it one chimney. The bright green lucerne really sets it off nicely.
It was a neat house.. and certainly made out of solid stuff..

Love the symmetry in this cottage Dianne, Looks as solid as the day it was built.

I agree with Marnie, it does still look solid. Hope somebody brings it back to life one day.

Lovely capture, and I agree about the child's drawing .. and yes, they'd only put one chimney, wouldn't they?

@julzmaioro ha - yes, I hadn't realised there were pigeons until I got this image ready for 365.

It would be interesting to know the story behind the home. It looks like it is possibly repairable.

So sad to seat empty but a great contrast with the lucerne

Sad that it's empty now, but it made a nice shot

Nice shot but why two chimneys? I suppose one could be an open fire and another for cooking

@kelly2 I guess you're right and heating would be important as this wee cottage was in the lower half of NZ's South Island, where winter can be bleak.
