Kawakawa, in the north of NZ is home to the most photographed toilet block in NZ (and possibly the world?) These toilets were designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who made NZ his home. He lived in the small town of Kawakawa from 1975-2000. The toilets were completed in 1999, just a year before Hundertwasser's death. Busloads of tourists come to take photographs of the interesting design with it's 'green' roof.
Fantastic capture well spotted, Interesting place for street photography outside the ladies toilet !!!!! its definitely the most colourful one I've seen, but wait a minute I have seen these toilets before have you been here before Dianne? lol:)
Love it, love it. When on a NI golf tour a few years back we turned off the main road to see this wondrous edifice. Nobody was too impressed about the detour till they saw these toilets! Fantastic. Some wonderful sculptures across the road too. Love to go back for a second bite with the camera.
