Street photography

Kawakawa, in the north of NZ is home to the most photographed toilet block in NZ (and possibly the world?) These toilets were designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who made NZ his home. He lived in the small town of Kawakawa from 1975-2000. The toilets were completed in 1999, just a year before Hundertwasser's death. Busloads of tourists come to take photographs of the interesting design with it's 'green' roof.
Roof not so green at the moment.. great shot..

They are fabulous toilets. The only problem is there are only two ladies toilets if I remember rightly.

What an interesting design. My mum likes photographing toilet blocks! We stopped in Waiouru to photograph those ones when we were there last!

Anywhere else it would be considered weird or creepy to be taking photos of toilets. Fantastic shot.

Love it, love it. When on a NI golf tour a few years back we turned off the main road to see this wondrous edifice. Nobody was too impressed about the detour till they saw these toilets! Fantastic. Some wonderful sculptures across the road too. Love to go back for a second bite with the camera.

Very cool loos! A a really cool town. Isn't it only one of two in the world with a railway line down the middle of the main street?
