Barley?

I drive past this crop of barley? on my way to and from work. It is on a very busy road with not many options to stop. Today, although it was raining, the light looked great. It was a matter of leaping out of the car, taking the shot and getting out of the rain as quickly as possible!

Yep, looks like barley. If so, it doesn't need that rain if it's to go malting.
