I am in the South Island in Central Otago. This is where we are staying for the camera course. It is a lovely historical homestead, built in 1882, and situated in the middle of a large sheep farm. It is made from mud brick and volcanic rock and is very cosy, with a coal range in the dining room. The floors are 6 inch native timber, so that helps to keep the cold out. This morning it is currently minus 3, so a bit on the cool side for a North Islander!
