Atiu Regional Park by dide

Atiu Regional Park

This is where we stayed on the weekend. We had this huge paddock to share with my sister and brother-in-law (they are in the 'A' liner caravan). There was only one other vehicle in the paddock. This park is lovely for walking, mountain biking, chilling out and horse riding. There is even an overnight paddock for the horses. Although it is right on the shore of the Kaipara Harbour, there is no beach access due to the growth of mangroves. The men were a bit disappointed there was nowhere to fish nearby, but Barb and I had a lovely long walk about the place. In the bottom right image, you can see where there has been extensive plantings of native trees through a gully. There were other areas that have been sprayed off, ready for planting this winter. It's a great place to stay.
Looks beautiful
