This is where we stayed for part of last weekend. The wee cafe was very busy from early morning - all the boaties stopped for bait from the shop next door and coffees from the cafe! It was nice staying right by the beach. Waiomu is about 15 km up the coast from Thames.
@joansmor Yes - we always took our kids camping. We generally stayed at a remote area, with no power or mod cons. There was only a cold water tap and pit toilets. Camping required a major lot of organisation with four young kids in tow. Now-days, we can be organised to leave home in about 20 minutes!!!!! Mind you - it's just us two adults.
Yes camping & caravanning has come on in leaps & bounds from the days of gas mantle lamps & the table becoming part of the double bed, put me off for life having to stand out in the rain with my brothers & sisters waiting for dad to get up so we could have our breakfast! Your camper is very civilised! Looks a lovely campsite too!
