The surge by dide

The surge

We were surprised to see a big surge in the Manukau Harbour today as a result of the huge lot of volcanic activity near Tonga. Hoping everyone is ok there. We also heard a sonic boom yesterday evening while we were sitting outside while camping. The boom was from the volcanic activity at Tonga, 2,300 km away.
Gosh that is very noticeable

The satellite recording was shocking! It is good that they were able to signal in advance to the people living on the island!

Wow great comparison shots. I know the hokianga also had surges despite being on the west coast. All the beaches in the bream bay area were closed.

I am surprised to hear you have felt it on the west coast…must have been quite a sight! Awful for Tonga,I hope things aren’t as bad as they suspect.
