We only had a short bike ride today from a small town by the sea (Kaiaua) to where there are some bird hides. It is in this area of the Firth of Thames that lots of migratory birds come to feed for the summer. The cycle track today was mostly shell and in places was a bit tricky as the high seas had washed part of it away. There were places where it got pretty hot in amongst the wild fennel and high weeds. The fennel smelt pretty nice though!
I’m enjoying your ‘day in the life’ type collages that you have been posting recently. Never as far as I know been in an area that smelt like fennel but I did used to grow some tarragon in my garden and loved the smell when I occasionally clipped the edge of the clump with the lawn mower.
